April 2, 2009Holland's Toazted conducted an interview with K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton of British heavy metal legends JUDAS PRIEST when the band played Amsterdam on March 23, 2009 as part of the "Priest Feast" European tour with MEGADETH and TESTAMENT. Watch the chat in two parts below.
JUDAS PRIEST will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the classic album "British Steel" (it was originally issued in April 1980),by performing the album in its entirety for the very first time ever live on stage this summer. In addition they will be playing some old favorites.
JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford has told Billboard.com that plans are still afoot to stage the band latest release, the 2008 rock opera "Nostradamus", in its entirely later this year. "I would say we're hypothetically looking towards late fall, early winter — in our heads we've got September, October lodged in our heads," Halford said. "That's the next big moment for the band. We've never done anything like that before."
Halford says the group is currently running through ideas of how to present "Nostradamus" on stage. "Are you just gonna stand there and play?" he noted. "Are you going to have screens? Extras? Are you going to have a stage set? What are you gonna do? Those are all things we have yet to hammer down, but we're ready to bring something very special and unique and different to the performance. It's going to be quite an exciting achievement for the band towards the end of '09.
"But what's the rush? It'll be ready when it's ready."
